Concentrated Sewage Purification Technology
Combined works (CW) can be applied for purification of the concentrated wastewater produced by meat-packing plants, butter-and-cheese factories and processing enterprises with BOD 700-3000 mg/l and suspended solids 500-1500 mg/liter.
Lifetime 10 years.
After preliminary mechanical treatment waste water flow to biocoagulator-floater (1), where the sedimentation of suspended solids by 50-70%, the removal of dissolved organic contaminants by excess sludge (10-20%), partial homogenization of the organic load, pH and float separation take place. The foam is removed through the tray into foam collector (2). Then, the clarified liquid is sent to the mixing chamber (3) CW-1 (4), where repeated circulation of sludge mixture through biofilter and aeropack takes place with the help of the circulation pump (5). At CW-1 when there are high loads on the active biomass sorption and oxidation of organic matter by 40-60% BOD occurs. Oxidation of the rest of organic impurities is produced in CW-2 (6) at low loads on the biomass. The sludge supply from CW-2 into CW-1 to avoid sludge overloading as well as sludge supply from CW-1 into CW-2 for the stable biomass mineralization is foreseen.
